Year 9 Getting their bearings at Homewood College

Angles have been the theme in maths this half term. Many Homewood students relate very well to practical scenarios and hands-on experiences. With this in mind, Alan Whyte set about planning a maths lesson that put students in charge of the fictitious Homewood Air Ambulance with only bearings to guide the helicopter to numerous crash sites around Sussex. Daniel Elyas (pictured)  grabbed the map and compass enthusiastically and his brilliant work showed he had fully understood compass bearings and saved many Sussex lives!
